Founder of The Tadini House, Interfaith Priestess, & Educator

PJ Boone-Edgerton Longoni is a visionary leader, educator, and the founder of The Tadini House. Her life’s work sits at the unique intersection of systemic justice, deep spiritual practice, and academic rigor. As a mother whose two sons experienced incarceration, PJ’s fight for community justice is rooted in profound personal lived experience.

Professionally, PJ has served at Arizona State University for over 20 years. Her deep understanding of the carceral system is informed by her time working as a Psychologist Associate at Eyman Prison’s Meadows Unit in Florence, Arizona. An unyielding lifelong learner, PJ holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and the following advanced degrees:  a Master of Public Administration (ASU), a Master of Arts in Theology (University of San Francisco), a Master of Arts in Counseling (Northern Arizona University), and a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Montessori Early Childhood Education (Loyola University Maryland). She also holds advanced certificates in Institutional Research and Communication Studies.

PJ’s academic background is mirrored by an equally rich spiritual journey. Ordained in 2019 within an independent Catholic interfaith community, she serves as a Catholic priestess at the Shrine of Holy Wisdom in Tempe, Arizona. Driven by a deep desire to explore the universal threads of human value, her path has led her to active participation within Buddhist and Sufi communities, including completing a 10-day Vipassana silent meditation retreat, which remains a cornerstone of her daily practice. Furthermore, PJ completed a rigorous two-year certification in the Human Values program through the Institute of Sri Sathya Sai Education - USA.

PJ believes fiercely in the healing power of community and spirituality. She is actively dedicated to uniting spiritual communities with the collective movement for true community justice.

 Speaking Engagements & Topics

The Tadini House offers dynamic, transformative speaking engagements for houses of worship, community centers, non-profits, re-entry organizations, and centers for spiritual growth. PJ bridges the gap between spiritual devotion and social action, speaking on key themes including:

  • Human Dignity and the Power of Sacred Spaces: How the physical environments we create for returning citizens impact their ability to heal. PJ advocates for the radical idea that beauty is not a luxury, but an essential right that awakens the spirit, honors human potential, and allows individuals to truly flourish.
  • Navigating the Probation System with Wholeness: A critical look at the current probation and legal systems, contrasting punitive surveillance with community-based accompaniment. PJ speaks on how to support individuals through the psychological and logistical hurdles of probation without stripping them of their dignity.
  • Engaging Faith & Spiritual Communities: Inspiring congregations of all traditions to move from passive awareness to active justice. PJ offers insight into how communities can contribute meaningfully to the lives of directly impacted people through a lens of equality rather than charity.
  •  Healing Trauma and Personal Growth: Providing safe, nurturing spaces specifically for directly impacted individuals and families. PJ speaks on the transformative role that spirituality, inner contemplation, and mutual community play in navigating life after incarceration.
